The next work in this Series, Raising Fear, explores the increased use of Book Bans to limited access to intersectional curriculums that often lend voice to experiences of various communities and identities. By omitting the stories of People of Color, Queer Trans Folks, or histories that paint the United States as of America as any less than a perfect experiment in the application of Freedom, we diminish educations main purpose. To cultivate the minds of young people so that they may grow into thoughtful, critically conscious, empathetic adults.
This work explores the act of book banning as an act of intellectual colonization.
